In 1920 AJ Small purchased, subdivided and named Avalon. He established Palmgrove Park, Avalon golf course and planted the conifers and Norfolk Island Pines along the beachfront. He saw Avalon as a retreat similar to that of King Arthur's Avalon. Located on the Northern Beaches, Avalon remains just as beautiful and just as mystic today.
The legendary surf, the proximity to boating and sailing activities on Pittwater, the lush public golf course, the fantastic shopping and the who's who celebrity cafe' society make Avalon Beach one of Sydney's favorite day trip and holiday destinations...... The place gets into your blood
