Flew to Queensland from Sydney and landed at the airport in Coolangatta. Not much of an airport comparing it to Sydney, but it was nice and clean and staff helped us out with trying to find a bus to get to our hotel. The actual town of Coolangatta was lovely and there is plenty of accommodation to stay in. A really nice place with some of Australia\'s nicest beaches.

Beautiful beaches! It was a bit hot this time of year (compared to melbourne weather), so I would recommend going in cooler months- still warm but not humid. It\'s a good area if you want the beach vibe but like peace and quiet. A little bit too far out of Surfer\'s Paradise, so not an ideal place to stay if you want to go out every night.

Busy town but like so many others on the East Coast of Australia - the only thing going for it was the surf. Expensive - really may as well have stayed home and saved a heap of money.

The good thing about Coolangatta is that it is near the airport. So when going to the Gold Coast you will arrive in Coolangatta. It is pleasant all year round. Coolangatta is part of the Gold Coast however the atmosphere is slightly more relaxed. It is a twin city. There is a river that separates Tweed Heads and Coolangatta. Tweed Heads is in the state of NSW and Coolangatta is in the state of Queensland.

Coolangatta is located on the Southern bit of the Gold Coast. So if you are flying into the Gold Coast Airport, it\'s basically across the road. Home of the famous movie based on an ironman race.

Not far from crossing the border into NSW, Coolangatta is pleasantly a built-up coastal suburb. The gold coast still runs to here.
